Hey Kid's wanna buy some Nostalgia

So have you ever wanted to go back and play some old video game’s just to revisit your childhood. I know that I have wanted to go  back and play some of the  old game’s just because I really enjoyed them when I was a kid.  My first video game system was a Nintendo I wasted a lot of time playing  Zelda, Mario, Little Nemo’s Dream World, Metroid.  I would contribute most of my youth to saving Hyrule defeating Bowser, Destroying every Metroid and playing in a fantasy world collecting candy from weird animal’s.  I think a lot of young adult’s now day’s want to visit those precious memories when they where younger and one outlet is by playing old video game’s. The thing that really suck’s is that people like to take advantage of other people. This has been happening since the start of this planet.  So if you go online a lot of older game system’s like Sega and Nintendo are pretty expensive but that is not the bad part.  Once you finally get the system you will need game’s to play on it but they are super expensive as well.  People are trying to act like some of these video game’s are SUPER RARE but we all know they are not.

People are considering themselves to be Nostalgia seller’s.  I talked to a guy recently and I said “Isn’t this game a bit too high”  He told me “Don’t you want it for the Nostalgia” .  Since when did people start selling nostalgia?  This concept irritate’s me.  Some older game’s are just not worth buying at such an expensive price.  It seem’s that some of the game’s are more expensive now than when they where brand new what type of logic is this.  It is like these Nostalgia seller’s are like comic book collector’s or art collector’s and they are selling people some masterpiece.  The sad truth is they are and yes I will pay an arm and a leg to get some of these great game’s from my childhood.  When I buy these game’s I don’t feel like a good person after I buy them just because I know that have been cheated but I was dumb enough to pay this ridiculous price for something I once had.

  1. Download an emulator.
  2. Download the ISO of the game you want to play.
  3. Buy a usb variant of the NES controller.
  4. Profit???

I have a bad track record with nostalgia. Maybe because I have changed. The games are the same, but how I feel when I play them has.

Except for Xenon 2 Megablast.

That game never gets old.

EVER!

haha yeah the sad thing is some people don't know about emulator's so they actually go and pay these ridiculous price's.  I havea an old school video game shop  locally where I live and it is the saddest place to ever exist. They literally charge an arm and a leg for a video game.  Me and my friends where talking about it and we all came to the same conclusion.  If you ask the guy behind the counter "why does it cost so much" His reply is "Don't you want to buy some Nostalgia".  It is sad that people are taking advantage of these twenty year old's that realize the game's of their youth where amazing and want to go back lol.

Some thing's never get old for me it is zelda a link to the past I can play that game over and over and over it has not gotten old yet

JJgames.com is pretty reasonable, plus I can buy with bitcoins

So how much was that shop charging around for?

It was a bit ridiculous...They where wanting nintendo games for around 30 and even really crap one's too.  Sega game's where about the same and some of the Nintendo game's went to the 100's.

You could build a pretty gud computer and play those games for free than buying them from that store. And also, how is Inspector Gadget doing?

ahhh, nostalgia. The only thing holding me back from buying all the old Rainbow Six games. I don't want to ruin the memories.

Haha, i know what you mean. A friend got this game and i was playing it like crazy, one day i played through the whole game like four times! He also got Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts but i never managed to get through the game, it was so frustrating.

I'm glad I still have the NES and GBC. Its a shame I have only 3-4 games each and the NES refuses to load the cartridges.

I like the feeling of tangibility and achievement

getting the NES to post was a game in itself

It's not the same as handling the real hardware. Like how using a fighting stick is not the same as a stand up cabinet. A large part of nostalgia is having the real thing.

What i hate trying those old games out if the fact thad a new tv prob won't take old coax input.

Lucky most old nintendo stuff use thad scart cabe thad i got with the N64.

Still works with my SNES/N64 and i think a NES has thad connector as wel.

But last time my cable was broken and i was forced to buy a new cable €15,- no shipping.

On the good side it was still in original packaging so felt bit better but stll.

Think what you will have to pay if you need a simple extra controler, a power supply, or memory cards and stuff.

*Sign* Still looking for a top loader NES thad is not priced to high.....mean while emulator it is.

I still have my gamecube just so I can play Wind Waker and Super Smash Bros

I also still have a PS2, but that only gets used to play Star Wars Battlefront too much.

I too hate it when people try to stab me with game prices. I like to get my hardware from local shops so they don't come to me filled with cockroaches and sadness, but games are another story. I've had friends who had to remount or even replace processors in systems they got off the internet. I keep a genesis right next to my gaming pc and my ps3. And I can tell you there is nothing like plugging a nice set of cans right into the genesis's headphone port and playing some Herzog Zwei.
