Here's a challenge

After scanning through most of your "build a PC" videos i have noticed that what most people would find cheap appears to be a months worth of rent which i really cant afford. I am a PC gamer but i have a basic hp computer from Walmart that was given to me. I am also trying to convince my friends to join me as a PC gamer. This is difficult with my computer due to its limited resources. The challenge? Build a gaming computer that can handle MMOFPS's and MMORPG's such as "ghost recon online" and "perfect world," which both have 3D graphics and massive amounts of players, for under $150. it needs to be able to run these and many other games in the fantasy MMO category and MMOFPS category. i am always looking to try new games but my computer wont stand up to most of them. think you can beat the challenge?   the computer is a HP x5000 Series with fully stock parts from the manufacturer. also sense it is stock it has no video card. enjoy the challenge.

We need more information on your current hardware. Can you download CPU-Z and show us a screenshot of that after you run it?

can you provide me with a link to the appropriate one to download?

This is going to be a stupid question but how do i add the screenshot to the comment?

Upload the image to a sharing site like imgur, right click the image, copy image url, click the tree icon in the comment edit box, insert

thank you for guiding me through that. i was a bit lost with yall's way of adding pictures.

We'll also need info on your memory and graphics tabs

Anything else needed?

pictures  are posted if you didn't see them.

is that all you needed screenshots for?

Dude. Honestly from what I read this is a very difficult challenge to complete. Your price point is not very realistic considering that you can't even get a decent machine at Wal-mart for that price. Even if you were to purchase the machine it would probably be refurbished. Can you still game on a Refurbished PC? Yes but is it practical No. For $150 you would probably have a better chance looking around craigslist for some Old (but decent) PC parts and maybe then you might have a PC that could handle these games at Low settings. My guess is that you a teenager like myself, I trust me I know how hard it is to get money for a build. I worked 3 months at a small local computer shop doing little things like fixing PC's and other things along the same line to make $500 (I would get payed $100 a week but most of it would go into my savings account). My point is that if you find some other ways to (legally) get money you could build yourself a decent PC, you just have to save your money anyway you can and purchase wisely. If you want some PC parts contact me I have a bunch of parts from other PC's and stuff and we can figure a way to get them to you.

Hope this help.

i can use this one for now for my gaming ill just keep the games low demanding. i know one part his comp really needs is a video card of any kind sense it doesn't currently have one at all.

Same situation my friend was in. He had an off the shelf PC and wanted to get into PC gaming without breaking the bank. I suggest getting the new GTX 750 or 750ti. If you're okay with medium settings depending on what kind of monitor you're playing on it's a great card especially for the situation you're in. When you finally decide to build your own PC you could just get another one and use them in SLI, would be pretty good performance.

which one is better and what is the cost on them?

Here's what they're priced at NCIX (Canada, prices might be different for you sorry lol) it all depends on your budget, the 750s all only have 1GB of Vram, so if you're planning on a multi-monitor setup, go with the 750ti. (Also, most games go past 1GB of Vram now) and the 750ti is a lot better, especially with that extra vRam for the price. The reason these cards work so well is because of the low power consumption that would work with the PSUs off the shelf desktops use, some of them don't even need a power connector! Lol. All in all, it's up to you. Hope this helped!
