Hello everyone,
So after some time I was able to talk a friend into trying pc gaming. He started of with buying a new laptop which he needed that had an apu in it but hes kind of out grown it and has decided to set aside a 500 USD for a new build. I was hoping for peer critique on the build I put together before finalizing the parts and buying them.

I wouldn't waste my money on an 8-year-old CPU when there are so many viable alternatives in that price range. The Intel Pentium G3258 and the AMD Athlon X4 860K are two examples. The 960 is a turd for the price.

Is the q6600 that much slower? I really wanted to get him an Intel quad core as opposed to dual core or an AMD quad core.
