Help

Im having some trouble with my computer. when i plug everything into my computer, it turns on but my monitor says that its getting no signal from the computer. i have tried a different VGA cable and still had the same issue. the computer turned on just fine last time i took it out(it has been sitting in my closet for about a month). does anyone know a solution to this?

Thanks!

are you plugging the cable into your motherboard or gpu? what is the specs of your pc? what operating system? do you have another pc to test the monitor?

im plugging it into my motherboard. the OS is windows 7 home premium 64 bit. i tested the monitor and it works with my other computer. the gpu is a ATI radeon hd 5450( it is a fairly older pc)

so the pc's has been in a closet for a month. anyway it was upgraded to windows ten without your knowledge? did you plug it into the gpu or motherboard? have you tried both? what cpu? does it have a igpu? is your computer getting enough power? could one of the gpu or motherboard power connectors been partially unplugged in the trips in and out of the closet? if the system is not getting enough power, the fans and lights may spin and turn on but it wont post or send a signal to the mobo. crack open the case and see whats going on.

Thank you! i plugged the VGA cord into the gpu and it fired right up.
