Help with Witcher 3

I have been playing the Witcher 3 recently. However, after a while of play, the game crashes. In the error log I get an error with an Event ID of 1002.

The program witcher3.exe version 3.0.4.50268 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

Did you go to the Action Center Control panel and check the logs. What you posted is a generic error.

What gpu do you have and what drivers are you using?

I am using the GeForce 780Ti and according to GeForce Experience, my drivers are up to date.

And how would I do this? I can't find any logs.

I have same problem, I'm using the same damn driver from nvidia and it will just crash after running around some minutes (i get display driver stopped working but it's successfully recovered - ftw right) - i have 2-way 780ti sli here and getting those damn crashes. I'm quite sure that its related with the amount of vram 780ti have (which in my case is 3gb). Basically the game will run out of the memory. If you turn down the settings and problem goes away - you know it's vram (what in my case is the problem).

I'm basically collecting money for latest titan - just because I'm so sick of this nvidia vram limitation sale scheme. I just want to play games without messing with the god damn settings all the time. Btw I can play witcher 3 on ultra (60fps) with no problems (and yes i have overclocked those suckers), but the fact i have only 3gb of vram makes it crash almost like a clockwork. Rumors are that they will release a game patch next week - so it may or may not fix those issues - but I don't have any faith in this.

I am running the game with Ultra at 1080p at mostly 60FPS. However, I turned down the resolution to 1920 * 1080 from 4K. When I run the game in 4K I get like 20 FPS, but the game doesn't crash.

most likely steam injector/drm.

Any way to fix this?

run it without steam worth a shot..., itself there's no data on whats up with it.

check for dumps should be named such as:
witcher3.exe_crash_20150420_053430578.crashinfo

This is just example file and send it to cdpr (you can open it from notepad or something similar - all info is there in clear text)
on top of the file is reason why it crashed

cdpr support.

I can't remember off the top of my head and I do not have my laptop. But the info you posted says to look for it and a quick search online also said to look for the logs to get more info on what is actually causing the issue.

Good idea throw more money at the people who put you in this situation.

It's easy to say when there is only two companies who makes graphic cards :)

Well right now it is. I give you... https://forum.teksyndicate.com/t/msi-ws60-laptop-what-im-installing-on-linux-windows-tek-syndicate/80860/22?u=zibob

I believe it is my CPU. Whenever it crashes my CPU usage goes really high. And I have like the worlds worst CPU. The AMD 8150.

so did you check dumps witcher3.exe creates after its crashing? I think you did not.

check out my older post here.

I did. There is no dump. Unless I am getting the wrong place.

then this was not issue with witcher that closed the application. It did not crash.

run chkdsk and sfc /scan
This looks like issue with windows then.

check if you have bad sectors, check if you have malware etc.

It is closing, and providing an error log in Windows. That is all I can get from what is going on.

I did this a couple days ago. I left my computer unattended because it was taking too long. I don't recall it fixing anything. And I check Malwarebytes and my installed programs often. I also look at the command prompt to see if anything is running I don't want. I just believe my CPU cannot simply handle the game.
