Help with Thinkpad T420

So I recently got myself a Thinkpad T420 for school since my previous laptop broke on me. I salvaged 8gb of ram and the hard drive(elementary OS) from my old laptop to my thinkpad. They worked perfectly fine. I decided that since I’d be using this pretty often, I’d be better off with an ssd so I decided to grab it from my desktop(solydk). However, when I tried to boot it with the thinkpad, I would get errors PXE-E61 and PXE-M0F and it would not boot. I tried to change my boot order so that the ssd would have priority. I tried updating the ssd’s firmware. Nothing seems to be working. I even wiped it(after backing up of course) and installed mint cinnamon on there and it’s the same problem. So I’m kind of lost. Any ideas?
