Ok so I just got a Corsair AF series 120mm fan. It's a high performance version, I thought I'd get one because I thought it's not too diffrent from quiet series fans. I won't lie the fan is really good in terms of it's performance, but it's a bit too loud. So baiscly I'm asking if I could make it run a little less loud, I heard something about undervolting please explain how to do it if it's possible!
To slow it down you will need to either reduce the voltage via a van controller or via the voltage stepdown reducer (extra small cable that would have come in the retail packaging) that drops down the voltage to 7v. It will still move a decent amount of air whilst being a lot quieter.
I used the cable to reduce voltage down to 7v, originaly it was running at 1650 RPM with reduced voltage it's running at 1350 RPM which is much more quieter but still not to my liking. I do regret not getting the quieter version of this fan.
