Help with Spin Rite, VMs, and BIOS error plz

i looked for the best place to talk about something like this, this was the best place to put it since i am running on Windows 8.1 pro. now lets begin

i have 3x 2TB WD RE4-GP Enterprise drives.

i would like to test the drives using SpinRite in VMs (one vm per drive link on how). and i was. . . until i got this weird error (pic https://twitter.com/capawesome9870/status/513231025758298112).

upon searching for a fix in found a post saying to use MSDos to boot spin right instead of FreeDos (which SR comes with) (link on how to change to MSDOS) and it did not change the error at all.

then a little more digging found that it wasn't a FreeDos issue, it is a BIOS issue (link on info).

so seeing that it was a BIOS issue i went and updated my BIOS (on my ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2) 6 time tonight (the number of updates i was behind to be at the latest bios) and tried to test past 30% were i get the error at off of a direct boot of the MSDOS SpinRite USB i made, still the error EACH TIME.

i also tried VMPlayer instead of Virtual box and still had the same error.

i thought that VMs used their own BIOS/UEFI to comunicate with drive and the OS? am i wrong? i would of thought that at least one of the 3 sets of BIOSs i tried would of worked. . . Guess not

does any one else use Spin rite?

has anyone tried to use it in a VM before?

Has anyone had this problem with spinrite?

what else should i try to get these drives tested? (i will try a different PC tomorrow to see if i get this error or not)
