Help with Ram plz =]

Hey

i have Blackdragon Geil 4-4-4-15 800Mhz 2x1GB

i went to buy another 2GB but i can;t find anywhere (in teh UK) only on Ebay but i don;t trust

So im thinking about gettin

2x1GB OCZ Platinum 4-4-4-15 800Mhz

I just want to know if they will work together?! and will i still get Dual Channels for Both?!

(im a total noob when it comes to Ram timmimgs)

Anywayz PC specs just inacse you want to know

AMD 3800+ x2 OC 2.3Ghz (i know lame.. w8ing for new AMD quads)

2GB BlackDragon Ram 800Mhz (Runign at 920Mhz)

Mobo = Gigabyte S-series (GA-MA69VM-S2)

Asus 4850 <3

Artic Cooling 600W

im a noob when it comes too ram timing but im going to tell you what people tell me dont mix brands of ram together

You should buy a 4gig kit and sell your 2gig if you cant find the same ram.

Erm i didn;t want to but im not buyin off Ebay or buyin 2nd hands 1.....

nd i got Vista nd Game 2GB ram.. i want 4GB :(

Ok right...

www.overclockers.co.uk has geil Black Dragon on there in

memory ddr2 pc2 6400 and ddr2 pc2 8500+

hmm they will work. Ebay is safe, i just it all the time btw.

Is your board the 690G Chipset? Cause if it is it has problems with OCZ Ram, some work some dont, you have to manualing change voltages to 2.1 Volts i think in BIOS in order for some OCZ to work.

edit: yep as i feared it is the 690 Chipset, same i have but asus board. Both have no support for OCZ RAM. http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/FileList/MemorySupport/motherboard_memory_ga-ma69vm-s2.pdf

my mobo only Does 800Mhz...

nd for the Dudde who says Overclockers.co.uk...

thts why i got them in teh first place thes 1s they have on now are 4-4-4-12

they are Evo 1s... mine are not them if you see the 4x2GB set mine looks tthe same as them with teh Gold dragon with Red L.E.Ds for eyes...

but mien run ar 5.5.5.15 Stock...

and i was thinking about sellin my 2GB set and gettin 4GB but i LOVE! my ram...

I didn;t rly want go with OCZ ram because all my friends have it...

none of my friends have Dlackdragon =/

black dragon lights up dont sell ram that lights up

dosent matter then the 4 4 4 12 ram would run at the slower speed. if u bought ram thats 1066mhz, but ur mobo only supports up to 800mhz, they'l just run at 800mhz

yah your motherboard automatically underclocks your ram thats what my motherboard is doing currently and its pissing me the fuck off

Erm i was looking at they say 2.2-2.4v i swear mine are 1.8-2V

Im just thinking about gettin a 2x2GB set OCZ have some on Offer now £34

the Blackdragon Ram is at £36

Erm this is hard =[

u didnt read my post before?? ur mobo dosent support OCZ RAM Therefore they wont work, nothing will be deteced.

Even if they did work by raising ur ram voltage for the OCZ RAM, you'll fry your other ones

Just buy a 4gb kit :)

You get DDR2 Ram thrown at you at an insanely low price these days....

Dude, buy 4GB of ram on sale or buy 2GB you will be happy with it. Its not that hard.

ok dude do thiss seel the black dragon and buy a 4gb kit of ram and not ocz as it has problems with 690G chipset

mine says 690V =/

nd erm... i want a Good set of Ram... as i have a windowed case

might stay with my 2GB =/ but i want 4GB for Vista

nd if my mobo does have Problems with OCZ wtf am i goin 2 do D:

As 4GB Geil Blackdragon Ram is abit more then i want to pay i wud have 2 w8 longer (got ppl 2 pay off)

nd i swear whem my Ram was on OC website it said my RAM was 2V but on CPU it says 1.8V

(i h8 ram from now on :P)

P.S i just tyed Google Problems with OCZ ram my my mobo none =[

Edit i saw the 690G have soem Problems but most people Sorted but just Changing Volt to 1.9V nd the rest had no Problems with OCZ ram

nd btw if i was goin get 4GB set of OCZ i wudn;t keep my Blackdragon Ram (sell it) :(

ur choice, cause it isnt even supported on the ram support page of ur mobo.

I got my 4GB Geil Black Dragon kit off ebay!

Ebay is safe, you just have to look at feedback etc and besides they always favour the buyer if all goes wrong anyways.
