Help with half-dark Shimian

So about a month ago I start experiencing some problems with my Shimian monitor (IPSI). In the beginning it wasn't that noticeable, I'd drag a window across the monitor and notice how it was slightly brighter on the right side. Then after about a week it got dramatically worse, the left side is around 40% darker than the right. I've tried to find resources to help me fix this problem but I've had very little luck finding anyone else reporting having this problem with their Shimian. Well, sometimes I'll find mention of it on a forum and then there will be no response to it from other posters.

I did however find a mass of people experiencing the exact same problem with their 27" iMacs. Since the same panel is used in both it would seem the same fixes should apply to my monitor, but I'm not sure if that is the case and that is a question I bring to you wise members of teksyndicate.

Below I will post a link to a fix for the iMac problem and a guide to carrying it out, as well as some pictures of the same problem I have but on an iMac display.

One difficulty I'm having is figuring out how to open up the shimian. If anyone has one and has gotten theirs open (for whatever reason), I'd really appreciate any advice you may have.

So if anyone on the forum can offer information about opening the shimian and/or how to fix my problem, I'd be very appreciative!

Send it back would be the best and easiest option, you'll void your warranty if you open it up and break something.

Saying that though as long as you're super careful and dont damage small things like the control ribbon (which is easy to do) then you should able to sort it out yourself. Also grab youself a multimeter so you can check that the outputs on the inverter board are all working.
