Help with game

Hi guys,

I'm running Linux mint 17 on a virtual machine to see how it works, and I wanted to install war zone 2100, but when I tried to run the configure file it gave me an error that I solved following a guide on the internet. When I re ran it, it said Qt not found!! So I downloaded the latest version, after installing it I understood that I need the version 4 so I downloaded the libriaries of the 4.8 version, but now I don't know what to do.

can someone please help me to run it??

Did you follow a guide for your distro and DE?

If you're running Cinnamon, you need to follow a gtk-based DE guide, so for Gnome3/Cinnamon/XFCE/..., not for KDE/Openbox/Enlightenment/....

Installing a game in a distro that's running in a virtual machine on a software console is probably not such a great idea either. It will just never work right. Don't you have a spare (even small) HDD or SDD lying around that you can install linux on bare metal to? That would work much much better! There are too many functions of linux that don't exist in proprietary software consoles that therefore cannot be made to work when the host OS is such a software console, and there are barely any good virtualization solutions for proprietary software consoles that are good enough to enjoy linux in.

There are also distros that are specifically put together in such a way as to facilitate gaming. There are even specific gaming distros that get every last bit of framerate out of linux (and sometimes also Windows) games, and that have Steam preconfigured.

Valve is experimenting a lot with their new client updates at the moment. If you use the Steam client, I would advise to only use a distro that offers support (as well as is possible of course) for proprietary graphics drivers related problems and Steam client related problems.

Such distros are: Manjaro, OpenSuSE, Sabayon, Sparkylinux, etc...
