Help with CPU & Motherboard Pairing

I am not sure if the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition processor will pair up with the Gigabyte UD3 or UD5 Mobo, any and all input is appreciated.

a am3 processor should work fine in a am3+ board by my knowledge.

It would work but it won't give you the same perforamnace as if you had an AM3+ Socket CPU. Both the motherboards are Socket AM3+ .Will you might consider to get an AMD FX-4100 instead? It's just a few more bucks.

FX 4100 is slower than the Phenom II 955 BE.

So you would reccomend the 965 BE over the FX-4100?

though if it was me, i would go 6300...

Yes, all FX CPU's are unlocked, all Phenom II's with "BE" or "Black Edition" are unlocked too.
