Hey everyone! I'm planning on building a new PC soon. However, I don't have much money. I have an Xbox, and I'm looking to join all you in the PC world! I know my budget isn't a lot, but I'm just using it for light gaming, so I think it's possible. I really need this to be about $350, the highest I can go is like $375. I know it's tight, but I think you guys can help me out here :) So, here's the breakdown:
here:
Budget: $350, highest I can go is $375
Where do you live: U.S.A
Is there a retailer you prefer: Which ever one has has the cheapest prices!
Do you need or already have peripherals: Nah, I'll hook it up to my TV for now.
What will you be using your future computer for: Light gaming and internet surfing
Do you overclock or want to get into overclocking: I don't need it, but it's nice to have the ability.
Do you plan on going for custom watercooling now, or in the future: Probably not
OS. Do you need a new one: Since Windows is so expensive, I'm going to use Linux until I have more money for Windows.
Do you plan on Mining BTC either for yourself or Tek Syndicate: No
If you Game-
What kind of settings do you like or what FPS do you want to play at: I don't mind playing on lower settings. I just need a PC that can easily handle these games, low settings or not.
What resolution will you be playing at: I have an HDTV, so it's 1080p I believe.
What kind of games do you like to play: MMOs, Valve games, some FPS's.
What specific game will you be playing: CoD, WoW, LOL, Minecraft, TF2, L4D2.
Once again, this is a PC to get me started with PC gaming. It doesn't need to be too fancy, but I want it to be able to handle my games with decent FPS, even if it's at the cost of low-medium settings. Thanks a lot in advance, and good luck with trying to help me out!
Yeah, either that, or go second hand, with something like a 560ti / 6950, and a decent quad-core processor.
a Trinity / Richland CPU is not a lot of gaming power though, but it will play most stuff at medium-high settings. Some games better than others. And if you go AMD APU, get some fast RAM, it's worth spending an extra $10-$20 for 15% speed.
The thing you have to realize with this build is that as of right now, there is no great CPU's on that socket, so if you some day want something better you have to get a new mobo. But hey, who knows maybe someday there will be really good CPU's on FM2.
