I have started a petition to help stop steam from region locking gifting. Please help me prevent this from going threw.

This will mostly hurt key-resellers like G2A, which is good. It was bound to happen at some point and a petition won't change it. Valve has every right to do this and they've gone a reasonable route, still allowing higher priced regions to gift to lower priced regions.
I have to agree with Nohrellas on this one. Overall I don't particularly care, but I can see why Valve would do it, especially with how the Ruble has been in the last few months. Going from ~33 Rubles per $1 USD to ~54 Ruble per $1 USD in six months is not good for companies operating in those regions affected. Similar reason why countries levy higher tariffs on certain products from other countries, nobody likes to be undercut.
Yeah it's because of all of the unauthorized third party key resellers that would buy chapter copies in other regions and sell them for a profit in a more expensive region.
It would be nice if this didn't happen, but I don't know how else this problem would be addressed other than removing region based pricing. Which ends up being unfair to someone.
