i want to base it arround the BitFenix Prodigy (Black) Mini ITX Tower and still keep a low budget.

I would go with a Amd cpu but it may not leave room to upgrade as much as the intel path.I have the 7790 and i have to say its a great card for the price point.

any ideas for ram ?

if you don't think you'll ever be able to get a 3570k or 3770k then you don't need a z77 board, save some money

i don't reccomend amd for itx unless it's apu, i just don't think the new athlons are very powerful compared to the i3

Yeah  the intels have better performance per core just amd is cheaper and the case is taking up alot of your budget
