If i have a hard drive that has windos on it can i move it to a new build
I had the same problem. I removed all the old drivers and installed the new ones and turned on AHCI mode in the BiOS SATA Controller. Worked perfectly fine for me.
Nope. You have to reformat, or else the drivers will go haywire.
If you have changed the motherboard you should always do a clean install, Windows will go balistic if you don't. You can move it to your new build if you have an other drive for your OS, and be very sure to disable your old drive in the BIOS as a boot option.
