Help on saving money/ downgrading parts

So I'm buidling a pc for a friend and he wants the price to be lower yet retain gaming performance - It's a gaming build.

Can anybody have a look at the list and give me some suggestions as to what I can skimp on?

So far the only things I can see that could be downgraded is the RAM and the motherboard.

Thanks in advance :)

If it's just for gaming, you can save over £150+ and get the same/better performance in game by switching out the CPU and motherboard to a AMD 760K based system, and a 280X for the GPU.

Whats the budget?

Is it a must for overclocking the CPU ?

This is a build that you could do with intel and nvidia

Or AMD

Getting rid of the SSD saves a lot of money. It helps with loading times and boot times a ton, but to be honest once a level has loaded and you're in the game it makes 0 difference.

You can skimp on the ssd (easy to add later ) ,

You don't need poop watercooling , get a good aircooler or skip it ,

Don't downgrade the cpu , I would take the 8350 or the i5 if you can afford it ,

You don't need win 8 , you can easily get a "cheaper" version / get windows 7 ( 7 goes for ~20€ ) .
