Help on $650 PC Build

Im trying to build a PC for myself that is decent for gaming and homework but Iam not very experienced in building PC's. I know how to put a computer together but I dont know how parts are compatible. I have a 650$ bugit towards this build which should be enough for a mid level PC. Ive done some research and found that a HD 7870 is the best for this buget. I am willing to go up to 700$ but not a penny over to make this PC reliable and last a couple years.(no crap parts) I would like to have room for a second graphics card so I can upgrade later on. the hard drive would perferably be a solid state because I allready have the HHD. At most 16gb's of ram. Dont forget parts like CPU cooler and Optical drive in the build pls. Thank You for helping me with my build.

seems like your being lazy but here is a build just under $700

feel free to change anything

I'm on my first build, so I don't have much experience, but looks like I've done quite a bit more research than you, so I'll offer this-  stay away from AMD if you want to add another card down the road.  Crossfire is terrible and just flat out doesnt work in some games.  Get a GTX660 instead of the HD7870.  Very close to the same performance, in fact does better than the 7870 in many games, and SLI causes far less headaches than Crossfire.

How does this look?  http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pExk

Yea I'd go w/ the i5 3570k for gaming, but you'll notice that guys on this site seems to like AMD.

We suggest AMD builds for those on a budget, and those looking for a decent gaming build.

That's because games are mainly GPU-dependent, in case you don't know. That's why the difference between an i5 to an i7 to an i3 to an FX-6300 in games is only 0-6 FPS.

People who usually ask here are   looking to build a budget gaming rig. That's when we suggest AMD, because we sacrifice only a little in terms of CPU game performance, and be able to use more money for GPUs. The difference between GPUs in-game is greater.
