Help needed with a firewall server

Hey guys , I recently installed Untangled as a Transparent Bridge(a linux Debian based server) on an old machine(AMD dual core , 4GM RAM 300 GB HDD IDE)  but I can't get my laptop to connect to the internet that is supposed to get out of the server. Here is the map: DSL modem => Server (onboard network card) => Additional network pci card => laptop (or another switch ). The ISP modem is set to 192.168.1.1 and the server to 192.168.1.5 . I've been working on this for 3 days now but I can't get it to work. I had the same problem with pfSence in the past and gave  up. Any help is appriciated.

I have no experience with Untangle, but I have lots of experience with pfSense in a very similar setup. You will need to go to pfsense's "gateways" area and set the WAN interfaces upstream gateway to 192.168.1.5

You could also try setting Untangles WAN interface to DHCP so that it automatically gets the gateway info from your cable modem.

Ideally, the DSL modem would have a bridge mode option where it doesn't do NAT or routing, but yours may not.
