I am trying to use Fujitsu Siemens D2516-c11 to get my 2X 10TB Seagate SAS drives working. The controller recognizes the drives but it can’t make them unconforimed good. When I am trying to do that it says can’t preform the task to drive.
I have connected the drives with Mini SAS 36P SFF-8087 to (4) SFF 8482 cable.
Have you used these drives in any other system or in another array? They could have residual metadata on them that is confusing the controller. In Windows I use diskpart with the /clean command to bring disks back to an unconfigured state, but you can do this with almost any disk management utility.
Also make sure the firmware on the controller is up to date.
