Help needed - New Broadcom P225P 25G NIC Compatibility Woes

For my latest hardware revision, i decided to upgrade the link between the Hypervisor and Backup Server to 25 Gb/s using Broadcoms latest P225P NICs. Unfortunately, my UC-DAC-SFP28 does not create a link, nor do any of my tranceivers (1.25G and 10G). No activity LED ever came on.

The NIC Shows up in Proxmox VE 7.0.6, pfSense and Windows Server 2022 (even before driver installation) and i upgraded the Firmware to the latest version.

Is there any obvious compatibility Problem? Did i receive a DOA NIC?

Product links:

What are you connecting it to? Or did you buy 2 and direct-connected them?

I am direct-attaching them with one side being passed through to a pfsense (together with all other physical NICs) and the other side living in a proxmox host (also tried passing through to a windows server vm).

I have these nics in machines at work … not sure I’ve understood your posts, maybe a diagram could help. They will not share any other link speed with the 25g connection. So if you plug in a 1/10g link first, your 25g link will not come up, despite being dual or quad port. Not sure this is your problem, but I ran into it at the shop.

Before blaming the Nics, I would try a different dac cable…
