Well to add you guys are all using A BETA. Can't expect MS to make all right out the door. 10061 hasn't been too much of a problem for me. I also removed all the unnecessary language packs, causing some updates and installs to hang.
10 has been hit or miss for me. 9926 was the last good version of it in all honesty. Reinstalling or recovery are your only hope. Like @Kai pointed out, you are running a beta. As with any beta backup often, and in settings change it so updates request to be installed before the fact. You should still be able to right click the menu to access these options for backup and recovery. I'm using 10 alongside Mint (soon to be Fedora 22 or Rawhide) and it's fantastic.
