As much as I love my 4790k if you do not do anything other then gaming, i agree with @kmnjh go with an i5, and drop down to 8GB of ram, and use the money for an ssd and a better video card.
I will be playing games life GTA V, Watch Dogs, Robocraft, Team Fortress 2, Assassins creed etc. Also I will be doing different types of projects. I didn't chose an AMD processor because they can't calculate.
The 270x is too weak to run newest games on max. You need a 290x. Also that motherboard is really old, get a z97 chipset. Something like this is the best you can do for 800$ http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4WvHt6 For an i7 and 16gb ram you would need 1000$ budget
Must have confused it with a 800$ post then, here you go, updated http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XQHkK8 or http://pcpartpicker.com/p/d6HkK8 Both will give you max settings. I prefer nvidia but both are good. I left room with the PSU for crossfire/sli down the line
Holy crap!!!!! This is gonna be the first time I will play on a PC. I used to play on PS4 but I could no longer play online because there was an error in downloading the ill gotten gains update. Then I decided to put down my controller and join the master race. I hope I don't regret it. Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it.
What, video editing? 3D modelling? CAD? Photo editing? You might see benefit from going with X99 for some, or next to none for going with a 4790K over a 4690K per se.
Also, @vrtnipatuljak, might sorta be worth sticking an SSD in there.
