hi guys i have bad bad problem that is getting really annoying.
-Lets get started i have gotten a malware the plays adds over my speackers.
-now it shows up in task manager as windows 11 (i have never downloaded windows 11)
-when it shows up i encounter a very large lag spike.
- when i found this i went on a file killing spree using nortan and Superanti spyware to kill anything they found a problem with.
- after reboot it was still there.
-when in task manager i am unable to end the task or find its file name.
Try malwarebytes
Malwarebytes and if that doesn't work reinstall windows.
Do you have backups?
cmd
msconfig
startup
check where its located in, uncheck it.
Kill that task, go to folder and remove it.
regedit
find that exec file, post ss of it here and we'll let you know wat to do with it... most likely all you'd need to do is empty the key with it.
Please download the FRST utility corresponding to your system bits. After that, please send me the logs it generates. You can download the utility Clicking Here
You can email me the logs: [email protected]
Lets get this fixed.
@epicnerd
Im not sure if this is true in general but for windows 8.1, msconfig>startup will redirect you to task manager for the startup list however not all programs will be listed here. you can find several startup folders by searching for "start", I have no idea how windows manages programs at startup (maybe someone here knows.?) but removing programs/shortcuts from these lists will stop them being started.
If your problem is a service it should be listed in msconfig>services (as far as i know). apart from that take this advice:
thanks for the responses guys i have tryed malwarebytes and it hasn't showed up yet
ps. i already did go into msconfig and stoped every thing and i still did have the problem for those who suggested it
I will post again if it shows back up.
