To start this off The internet at my house is atleast 24mbps down and about 4up. My laptop (wimax 5350) can get signal from the mailbox across the street and stream HD video. My sisters nook can play HD video anywhere in the house, but her range isn't as good.
I just put together my build and i don't have wired internet in my room so i opted for a wireless card. I got the TP-Link 4800. In my room i get about 200kbps down and 3mbps up. I'm really not understanding what is going on and why it's so slow. Did I make a bad buy? I'm willing to buy another one.
I have no idea what my router is. All i know is it only supports b/g/n @ only 2.4Ghz
Hm. It might be a bad wireless card, some of the reviews said that the cards connection started dropping after a short while. You could try to get a replacement from the company, or get a different brand (ASUS probably).
My computer would face the router as it sits in my house. I turned my case to the side window would face the router and i see speeds of 500kbps down and 4 mbps up.
It should be noted that my router is down a floor and past 2 walls
