Hello, recently I have had a random stuttering issue with my PC. The Video, Audio, and Mouse/Keyboard lag at the same time. It is like the computer is hiccuping. I can't find a way to debug it. I have re-installed Windows 7 x64, De-fragmented the Hard drive, and used CCleaner.
I am wondering if it is a driver related problem. I also have a theory it is the SATA ports. I moved from one and the stuttering stopped for a while, but it has since reoccurred.
My PC Specifications are:
CPU: i7-2600
MOBO: MSI Z77A-G41
GPU: MSI TwinFrozr III Radeon HD 7950 x2
RAM: 1x8GB DDR3 1600
HDD: 1TB Western Digital +(2TB External) +40GB Mushkin SSD
Thanks for the input, I had the same problem on Dual Channel too. I don't think it is RAM related. I ran MemTest86 on it.
I've re-installed the video drivers before, that didn't solve the problem. I could install the bare-minimum drivers to see if it was anything else AMD installed on my system.
Hmm, I will try that. I need to dissasemble my entire PC. The graphics cards cover the entire mother board and happen to cover the sata connectors. (Which for some reason point upward, damn you MSI!) So it is a bit of a pain to move the connectors around. I have to make sure the connectors don't get ben't and don't interfere with the graphics card. I will most likely try in the afternoon tomorrow.
After two weeks the stuttering came back. I thought that I had solved this. What seemed to work was to re-install the catalyst control center and the AMD drivers. I also thought to unplug the computer from a power strip and plug it directly into a wall.
My newest theory is that the power supply is unsufficient? Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
