Help modding skyrim

I built my gaming pc quite recently and i got skyrim. I played for a few hours. I then went and downloaded every mod that logan uses up until the weather part and after. Every time i start up skyrim it crases after the loading screen. Im not quite sure why this is happening considering my build is an r9 280 and an 8350. please help.

note: i have skse, sky ui, and ssme. I also use NMM

Have you put skse and ssme in the right spots? Are you launching through the skse shortcut? Have you adjusted the memory allocation after ssme was installed? And what exactly do you mean by loading screen? The actual spinning the object around loading screen or the Bethesda screen? If it crashes after the Bethesda screen and doesnt ever make it to the main menu then one or more mods are missing a masterfile. Download Wyre Bash and BOSS. They will give you more information about what is really going on. Play around with your load order as well.

yes i am launching through skse. idk if i put ssme in the right spot though. it crashes after the bethesda screen. idk how i am missing any masterfiles. i downloaded all of my mods through NMM

i'd recommend using Mod organizer (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1334/?) if it crashes during startup after the bethesda logo it means your load order is wrong or you don't have all the required mods/dlc.

You can try running BOSS and tes5edit to see if its your mods that are causing the problem.

If you need help with those lemme know

im watching a video on BOSS and load order right now. if i still need help i will be sure to ask. thank you

ok so he told me to get my load order correct before using boss because boss may not know every mod that i have. I have no clue how to order my mods. .esm .esp confuses me and i dont know which ones go before the other. please help

If the game is booting and then crashing at the loading screen it is not the load order.
Do you have all thee 2k textures? Is your gamesave near whiterun or a city. Because there is a known issue with running all of the 2k textures and crashing near cities.
And yes, you should be running Mod Organizer, saves major headaches.

how many mods did you install before running a test run again?

Also, you might be missing a compatibility patch. Check patches on nexus and search for some of your larger mods... frostfall, requiem, etc.

I found a great youtube playlist with tutorials, there is one that explains pretty much everything you need to know about load order: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE7DlYarj-DdhDG41roBVJfNCqvO5MmKP

No. i checked and all of my compatibility patches are downloaded. It wouldnt get past bethesda. until i deactivated some mods. i am positive it is my mod order

I bet this is your issue.

Something else to note, make sure skyrim.esm is only listed once. Lately every time I enable a mod in nmm, skyrim.esm is listed twice and I have to delete one of them.

Also make sure that you aren't using to much gpu memory. the game WILL crash everytime regardless of any other circumstance if the graphics card runs out of memory. If you use an enb run the game and run task manager and frequently check the memory usage on the enb thread(it uses normal RAM to load into gpu RAM but the amounts are the same)

It would then crash when you load existing save or when making a new game not after the bethesda logo.

E: He also has R9 280 which has quite a bit of VRAM

ESMs go before ESPs. If it crashes after Bethesda screen, then its a missing/out of order masterfile (esm). Wyre Bash will tell you if there is a missing master, if its out of order, it will try to automatically reorder it correctly. You need to make NMM plug in list match Wyre Bashs. When you click on a mod in Wyre Bash, there will be a small box in the lower right hand corner that you can scroll through and see which mod master files are missing if any.

Third R9 280 in here. that card rocks for the price. ultra 1080p with heavy mods. 42+ fps
