Help me replace Mass Effect

I'm building a pc and giving the xbox360 to the kiddos. I got back into gaming with KoTOR on the orig. xbox and moved to the Mass Effect Series with the 360. Loved those Bioware games.

Here's what I loved: characters I actually cared about, decent story lines, a combat that was fast-paced but not insane (of course, I've played it so much that only "insanity" is mildly interesting at this point), and options that actually seemed to make a difference.

Yes, I'm sure we can argue about the ending of the series or if the choices were "authentic", but still, really enjoyed those games.

Any recommendations? I'm thinking about Deux Ex. I've played through the Dragon Age stuff on the xbox. I tried to get into the Elder Scrolls thing with Morrowind and Oblivion, but just couldn't get into it (maybe it was that the console made it disturbingly difficult to deal with).

Anyway, looking forward to exploring a new world of action, rpgs and other games. Let me know your recommendations.

Thanks.

Heres a Couple to Try Out.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. (i Couldnt get into Oblivion and Morrowind at first but it grew on me) in My opinion Skyrim is much more immersive than the older Elder Scrolls Games.

This is Skyrim im Running with all of the immersive and Graphical Mods to give you a better idea. and you dont really need an Insane Graphics Card. im Running this with a R9-270x, the 7870 if you are more familiar with that,

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines: If You're into the Dark Gothic/ Punk Scene With Vampires this game is for you. be warned the game is incredibly buggy but with some Community Patches the game is playable.

Also You Mentioned Deus Ex. Try Deus Ex Human Revolution first. its a prequel of the older games. Human Rev- Deus Ex GOTY- Deus Ex Invisible War. try these games out i hope i gave you something to work with.

Jeesus HW Christ, I might have to look into Skyrim again. Haven't played it a long time.

Deus Ex has a choice system like Mass Effect. I like Human Revolution a lot.

If you're willing to try something a little different, the XCOM games may be worth looking at.

im almost finished with fallout 1, this has been interesting, it has good dialogue. i imagine playing fallout 1, 2, and 3 would be alot of fun.
=)
skyrim is sweet, esp with mods...
if you ever pickup an mmo, try eve online, its interesting, challenging, and the social aspect is really fun, my character name is dark808bb

the witcher 1 & 2. by the time you've finished both, you'll be primed for 3. and your savefile carry overs to the next just like ME 1~3. also, its quite cheap on gog - just $30 for both.
