Help me plz! Confusion Re: fanz

Hi,

I have five fans installed in my Corsair 760T, and all the fans are plugged into the motherboard.

There arent any fan headers left on the mobo. Since I have a Corsair H80i, four more fans could be added on by directly plugging in to the H80i device itself.

I tried this myself, and it did work, however the fans seemed to be locked to max, something I DON'T want happening.

They can be heared, and I don't think it does the fans any good. (they are SP 120's quiet ed.)

Is there a way of solving this? Or should I go for adapters for the mobo fan headers, giving me the option of plugging in two fans into one connection?

This is a sticky situation for me, as I am about to purchase more fans but am in doubt if it would even work.

If this helps I have an ASUS Maximus VII Hero.

Thank you,

Quentin

Buy a fan controller

Corsair's i series let's you control the fans at a software level using "Corsair Link". Or, use a fan control hub. If you are using a fan splitter make sure it's in the CPU fan header and not the case fan header. Alternatively, you can use an undervolt 3/4pin adapter. It comes with some brands of fans, like Corsair's Air Series and Noctua's fans, but I don't know where to buy them separately.

Corsair SP or AF edition fans should come with voltage adapters you could use them (12v to 7v). I had an issue with to few 3-4 pin connectors so i bought a NZXT Sentry Mesh it was 20$ USD fits in a 5.25" bay its freaking awesome and I love it. I can control 5 case fans from the front panel and it looks great additionally the cables are long and can reach anywhere in my case (Corsair C70).

Bottom line if you have the bays and 20$ get a fan controller. Add as many fans as you need, control the speeds so you can keep your eardrums, and look damn good while doing it.

This can help you...

However, i agree with the fan controller idea... It will be much easier... And there is a lot of different designs, so you can get one, that looks awesome, besides working wonders for sound reduction...
