I want to build a gaming server for mostly source engine games, maybe minecraft. I want to host around 6-10 servers at the same time with around 30-64 slots each (if thats to much, 32 is fine two). I would really want to keep the price under 500€-700€. I would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks
You're going to have to spend much more than that for even more than one server really.
You'll also need pretty fast internet...
so ehm 640 slots? You'll need some more money man....

You can't afford to buy the parts to run that many active threads. Sorry, you would need a core per slot if the CPU isn't hyperthreaded, if it is, then one core per two slots.
Right now i have 5 servers and fastdl site hosted on my laptop (i5 @2.4Ghz), 8gb 1333 ram.. My record is around 100 people, with small/no lag. But i find it realy rediculas to run servers on laptop..
