Help Me Find Some Awesome Android Games

Hey all,

Recently I've found the Play Store is a total mess when trying to find anything that isn't a bejewelled clone or some P2W nonsense.

So I decided to do something about it. I've been collecting a list of the best Android games out there, and I created an app to let people find them easily.

It's called Curated: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.curated.android

There's about 100 games at the moment, and I'm adding more all the time. But I figure the community here has a some suggestions for hidden gems I've missed.

I'm tired of seeing Clash of Clans and the like at the top of the Play Store - indie devs who make original quality content need more visibility. So, if anyone has any favourite games they think are worth adding, please let me know so I can try them out!

  • Jet Car stunts 1 and 2
  • Real Drift
  • Smash hit
  • Frontiers
  • Bad Piggies
  • Road trip 2
  • Little crane
  • The sandbox
  • Light Bike 2
  • Real Racing 3

and Logan's favourite Pixel dungeon!

that's what I have on my S5 currently

Awesome list, thanks!

I'll start downloading now.

When you say 'Frontiers', you mean Kingdom Rush Frontiers or Trials Frontiers? KR:Frontiers is there, and Trials I didn't add because it had a pay to play mechanic (buy fuel to do levels).

I've been conflicted on Pixel Dungeon - luck plays such a large role in determining whether or not you win, which is something I don't like.

yea, sorry I meant KR: frontiers.
Fair enough on pixel dungeon, its still pretty good thou...

I downloaded the App its really good!
Do you have a process for which game get on it and witch don't? i.e just because you don't pixel dungeon doesn't mean other's are the same.

EDIT: also do you think the app icon should be a little bigger? is seems a bit small compared to most of my other ones

Glad you like it!

I have some general guidelines - most importantly, the game has to leave you feeling satisfied when you're finished playing. And it can't be P2W or low-quality junk. The community of course has a big input - when people submit games through the app, the results get aggregated and I can see which are the most popular submissions - so I take that into account too. In the case of Pixel Dungeon, it seems to be quite popular, so I'll have to play it some more and make a decision.

Yeah I should make the app icon bigger - that's a side effect of using the Android Asset Studio unfortunately :/

Bad Piggies has been ruined for me. You go through an ad every level....

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Sega
Fallout Sheltee
Earth and Legend
Nova: Freedom Edition
Dead Trigger
Jet pack Joyride.

There's a game called Smash Hit that I really enjoy.

Hearthstone - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone&hl=en

go for emulators and play older games

Yeah, I'm not including emulators in the app because that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

Already there :) Extremely well-made game. The dialogue makes me cringe like hell though, haha.

Been playing it too - looks nice. Just waiting to see if it gets old.

Cheers, I'll stick them on the testing list!

Does it matter if they are paid or not but for free one of my favorite games was vector

You really weren't joking! Cheers for that, some interesting looking suggestions in there!

Paid or free is good by me - devs should be paid for producing quality work. I'll check it out.

shadow run should be on there. also look at the game nvidia put on the shield store.(or whatever its been called now)

Damn good suggestion. Seems to be a selection of quality stuff on their store. Cheers for the tip!

Hoplite. Try it out. It's probably the only mobile game I play (Apart from Fallout Shelter)

Hoplite is awesome! Featured it as the very first game of the week in Curated.

If you like N64 games you can emulate them on your phone. There is also a Gamecube/wii emulator but its not well optimized. N64 seems to be the latest console to run the best on mobile, PSP emulator runs well but some games will not work.

Yeah, its an excellent game. It's got lots of 'depth' hahahaha
