Do not mind the beeping but some boards may not boot into the OS unless a GPU is detected .
Found it, search ebay for āSunix VGAā.

Why not an x470d4u or d4u-2t?

Maybe price? I mean, those are 250+, a B550 would be way less and the Sunix card is seven bucks. Whatās the benefit of those two?

IPMI
ECC on the QVL
onboard graphics that doesnt eat up a pcie slot
more sata
Its server equipment for a server application
IPMI is a fair point. ECC sticks are on quite a few QVLs, at least ASRock and Asus do have some sticks tested on even lower end boards. Onboard SATA is a thing of course, so far I thought an HBA would be a given (and personally I would go that route anyway). PCIe slot for GPU, well yeah, one x1. On the other hand the M-ATX boards you mentioned are already a bit short on those.

And dual 10gb intel nic onboard on the d4u-2t
Minus: Slow m.2 slots ( 2.0 x4 or 3.0 x2 )

There is also the X570D4I-2T coming out soon. Dual 10gb nic, but its mITX. Only one pcie slot.
There is also a rumored matx x570 version coming out in fall.
EDIT: there are a good threads on these boards here:
ASRock Rack Product Page
Ever since Ryzens release I have been waiting for this. This product, as far as I know, the first AM4 socketed server grade motherboard that is going to be released. This would be great for budget minded homelabbers that donāt need a million Threadripper or Xeon cores. Someone like me for example. This would be an awesome budget VM host.
I cannot wait to get my hands on one.
Here are some of the biggest features:
X470 Chipset
ECC UDIMM DDR4 is supported (up to 64GB)
PCIe 3.0 x16 (splittable to x4/x4/x4/x4)
IMPI via Realtek RTL8211E chipset
ASPEED AST2500 with 256MB VRAM for basic display via VGA
Dual Gigabit LAN via Intel i210 chipset
Dual M.2 slots
Dual USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports
Serial and VGA ports on the back.
Better late than never!
EDIT: Added iGPU detail
2nd Edit: Added model names: X470D4U, X470D4U2-2T

Need some advice on splitting up a 16X slot into 2 x slots.
Iāve been running a PCI-e 1X in a 16X slot since Z87 days.
Using an Intel chip with GPU on die has worked fine.
But want to use an AMD Ryzen 2/3, which means a 1 x slot Mini ITX must share an 8X basic GFX card, and a 1X Audio card using a split riser.
I have no idea if this can be done and buying 2500 worth of components is forcing me to seek advice from anyone knowledgable.
Iāve been told that the Aspeed AST2500 would easily handle my 2D needs which is basically monitoring signals, no 3D, no FPS requirements.
But donāt know if Windows 10 can access the ASPEED Chip, or if I get Windows 2012, if itās compatible with my audio interface.
Hereās the GFX 8X and the Riser card I would use.
Any help is much appreciated.

B450 support/bios for Ryzen 4000 was actually just announced.
Yes, but those will be classified as beta and might have some quirks. B550 gives peace of mind and also comes with PCIe4 support which might be nice for something like a M.2 cache drive.

Additionally OP mentioned R5 2600 - from what Iām seeing it doesnāt appear B550 will be compatible/support that.

Youāre right. I totally missed that one.
In that case B450 for the 2600 or B550 for something Zen2.

I would go for ryzen 2600 since it has more cores and threads means it will not bottle neck gpu plus you can use it for multi threaded and core task.
Price to performance I believe ryzen would win
