[HELP] Linux Fedora & Vega 56

Please help. I am trying to figure out how to make Fedora 26 recognize my Vega 56 so that I may use both of my monitors and etc. Is there anyway to install a pseudo AMD driver to make the GPU work on Fedora?

all the best,

From what I understand, the open source AMDGPU driver doesn’t yet have Vega support on the mainline kernel. You can try compiling your own kernel from AMD’s downstream sources, but the easiest option would probably be to use their proprietary AMDGPU-PRO driver.

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, this driver only works on CentOS 7 and Ubuntu 16.04.

You can get a kernel with it enabled here: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/mystro256/amd-staging-kernel/

Make sure to follow the updating instructions there, and you may need to manually uninstall your current kernel as this one is a liittle older.

You’ll also need fresher mesa and llvm packages from here: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/che/mesa/

You’ll be able to remove these changes once Fedora has Linux 4.15.
