Help! Lenovo Yoga 2 refuses to accept Wireless drivers

My
mom managed to brick her Yoga and left it with me to format. Formatting
worked just fine but when I install the Wifi drivers as downloaded from
the Lenovo website it refuses to work. The drivers get installed but
they don’t seem to “connect” to the hardware. It seems like the intel
software tries to download them, but since I don’t have an internet
connection, it can’t. The laptop does not have a LAN port so I can’t use
that either.

Lenovo Yoga 2 13"
Windows 8.1 Build 9600

i have the original yoga 13 with xbuntu. This happened to me. Happened to have a usb to ethernet adaptor with me, however you could download the driver on another computer and pass it over to the laptop.

USB drives work as the previous poster said. However, nowadays anyone who fiddles with tech should own a USB to Ethernet adapter. Another tip is that on the Lenovo website you can download their system update tool. It is handy from verifying all the drivers are up to date.
