[help] is my cpu DOA?

im doing my test build and when i powered it up nothing appears on the screen and the cpu light by the memory is lit up (not flashing) what do i do? 

 

both my 20 pin and 8 pin cables are plugged in; i dont get any image on the monitor. i also dont see any bent pins!

No you cpu is not DOA most likely.

I see that you have a 4790K haswell refresh cpu, paired with a Asus Maximus VI impact board which is a Z87 chipset board.

you need to flash the bios to the newest version, using usb flashback, without any cpu and ram installed. then it will work.
