So I have this old IBM server with 2 Xeons and like 3Gb of DDR1. I am trying to get PfSense on it because my old machine refused to accept a WAN address.
@Dexter_Kane
This is where it gets stuck. Please help. (Using 32Bit regular)

I once had a similar issue and i just did a webcraw back then.
Don't use 32bit! It's deprecated and not to be used anymore

tell me what kind of server i am curious
32 bit is all it will run. (Super old machine)
If I am correct it is a IBM GX1-8760 or something. I have pics up on the LTT forum
Edit: It is a IBM 8670-GX1
you tried it? (curiosity)
What do you mean?
Well sometimes 64 bit OS work on old computers and 64 bit usually get better upgrade these days.
Its a 32 bit machine so I highly doubt it will work
I know it sounds weird but unless you get a error back. Try it. pfsense has a liver version right?
I guess I could
but otherwise you have to do what i said in first post. It can be a lot of work to get it fix then.
Thatn a cute server I like it.
Why not just install ubuntu or debian and set it up as router? Any linux distro can be used as a router. You could have a linux server with routing capabilities, that can do alot of other stuff as well.
the main issue is that it doesn't like to run any OS
These CPUs are very old, and don't support Intel64, or PAE, which is why nothing runs on them.
