i got a amd fx 8320 i want to get the corsair 100i cooler i got the Zalman 11 plus case i found this pic. I getting a nzxt Phantom 630 but im saving up for that it be a long time too
what i want to no is this modding the case or not i don't want to break my case and please dont say get some thing else
Kind of hard to know what your on about, if it has 2 120mm fan slots on top then thats a start, but it may depend on what motherboard you have whether you will have enough clearance, you might want to do some measurements yourself and double check, kind of hard for us to be able to tell from what you have said
If you really want a new case then the phantom 630 will fit the h100i in most cases, again it depends on your motherboard really, the h80i however is a very capable CPU cooler which you would also see good results with.
thanks and i going to get the h80i now anything i should know this will be my first time changing a cpu cooler the thermal paste i be use is arctic silver 5 if you know any better pleas let me no
why not grag a bad ass aircooler? Noctua NH-D14 or Phanteks PH-TC14PE, both perform better then a H80i, and the Phanteks even performs better then the H100i. But those aircoolers are realy big, but with most atx cases this should be no problem, unless you have high profile ram.
Big plus of a badass aircooler, decent performance, no pump failes, and alot more quiet.
i going to get the h80i and the fan program that comes with h80i is a lot better than crap that came with motherboard the Phanteks PH-TC14PE is good but all i can find is bright colors or Silver the bright colors cost the same as the h80i but the silver cost £20 more thanks for the info
I have a custom fan profile on my h80i so that the fans only ramp up when im gaming. When im not, the fan is almost silent i my Define R4. Was also really easy to install even for someone who has never done it before, like me when I installed mine.
Noctua fans are excellent but wont match many colour schemes. Even the SP140s from corsair would do a much better job. Noctuas are some of the best though.
