Better than pen15x
Because with input peripherals you get fucked ;p
I’ve got zero experience with any of those left ergo mice. I looked at them for my roommate but she refused to try them, plus most were ify about working outside Win/Mac.
Sadly this is becoming a larger issue, more than handedness. Everything is pushing a gimmick these days. Focus is eWaste for repeat buying cough Logitech, cheap batteries to set your house on fire and wireless that won’t connect when the dongle/receiver is 3 feet away cough Logitech.
I’ve been looking at keyboard forever now and ReDragon is like the only Fing company making a wired TKL these days and 99% of the wireless TKL aren’t TKL. All laced with gimmicks replacing keys I use with knobs and screens…input is a fucking nightmare anymore. More like some Simpsons Monkey Paw sketch…or to be on topic a LEFT handed monkey paw…
I never understood lefthanded mice, I am a lefty, useless with my right hand for most things, except for a mouse, I’ve always used it like a normal handed person. Its always felt comfortable that way.
I am a GNU/Linux user. All of them work outside of MS Windows and MacOS. But some require software to setup profiles, you could do that with a VM. The Logitech mice do not have onboard memory so you would need to run their spyware in the background if your needed to use custom configurations or per application profiles.
If you don’t care about ergonomics, then yeah, I can see that. For me, I don’t like my right-hand being over half of a keyboard’s length away, especially as a touch typists. Using a mouse with you left-hand, especially as a lefty or an Ambi, you come to appreciate the lack of awkwardness in posture and hand placement. In all honesty, unless you are using an TKL keyboard, it makes more sense from an ergonimic stand point for everyone to use a left-handed mouse instead of a right-handed one.
@JordosTechShack You sound like a lefty who wanted to play guitar but there were only right handed guitars available so you forced it until it was normal hehe. I can use either or myself. Both my roommates are left handed but comically one leaves her mouse as right handed button wise. I can move between their machines and mine just fine, even game but “yippe for me” not everyone can do that heh.
@Mastic_Warrior I figured most the basic ones would work or might (heavy on the might) be configurable with piper, or input remapper or -something- but do you want to take the risk? I didn’t. I’ve over the years tried Razer trash and despite having Linux applications and being supported models there was ALWAYS a gotcha! Comically even in windows their drivers could not do what was needed despite “technically” supporting it.
Logitech same same. We have Solaar which works about as well as a wet fart at a formal dinner party. Piper can’t remap a lot of models buttons despite the model being “supported.” Just landmine after landmine of gotchas.
Sadly I’ve ended back on Logiturd and even in windows their driver panel is more like some psyop enhanced interrogation tool. Like an engineer did a flow chart purely for functionality, zero consideration to usability and less consideration into documentation leaving features unexplained, backwards or incomplete.
Anyhoo signing off. I could rant endlessly about this stuff and sadly if someone else finds this in the future it won’t help much as mice models constantly change, stuff you see in reviews or on forums like this often aren’t available in your area yada yada. Always something keeping this stuff a PITA and never an easy way to find what works for you.
This is definitely not a vertical mouse, but like the old HP calculator RPN, once you start using it, you can’t go back. https://www.amazon.com/X-keys-TKB-6025-LBKGB-R-L-Trac-Blue-Trackball/dp/B00YI07MC2/ref=sr_1_1?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.mIOZce0z2wWpMf88ajkbwlLsnAH_6Jj1CcE93-teBZ64CSJPr77e92iIaFAOscJaaHC-niG9fa662uzIcgUE0L1H9gFX8VXYuvfoT6fjo9J4Jw-OwFZScKFqxEp8n9q43PZAyDoL5jHzJnEmnx-PZ3zbNRtCdeCTxRlVnzMKwuDXNoSKyn0FjIrRU9fxzJne5dRlk2OfC9dmOASVgJE2ZXjHY8CtbCbj5sRotHQUmQE.9Gx51jrOjA2xumy6Yrjf1vDOGgrLMvdn0ewAAh05jo4&dib_tag=se&keywords=x-keys+trackball&qid=1762219044&sr=8-1
Also, someone said that the ball can be replaced with standard billiard balls. Not sure if this is still the case.
