I got ahold of an old pentium 3 computer, and to my surprise it actually turned on. The case doesn't have any manufacturer name or model number on it at all, but it's actually a pretty decent sized one that I plan on keeping around for any future projects. I don't have any kind of tape measure on me, so I was wondering if anyone would be able judge based off these pictures what size fans it takes? I've taken a few pictures of the fan slots directly next to a 120mm fan for size comparison. The side panel fan is really small in comparison, though the picture doesn't make it look nearly as small.

From the looks I would say it is 80mm;

The back one.. sorry the sidepanel pic had not loaded O.o
The sidepanel looks even smaller.. so could be a 70mm or 60mm I can not reliably say though. - and the hole layout and spacing around the meshed part looks realy wired actually. maybe a 60mm was meant to be mounted with the edges parallel to the case and the 70mm flipped by 45° ...
Side is 80, back looks like 80 and 92...
That old case design loves to put 80mm everywhere.

tl;tr despite you mentioning it in the OP; a ruler will give you the most reliable answer.
Yeah, I just don't have one is all and it's hard to justify going out and spending 5 dollars on one for a one time measurement haha. I mean I'll probably have to, it just sucks cause chances are I'll never need it again haha.
Tapemeassure, ruler, back of a multitool, nothing? O.o
A piece of paper where you can look up the exact dimensions on wikipedia, than you can calculate how to fold it :P
Haha nothing. I'm not a very handyman haha literally the only tool I have in my house is a screwdriver for computer assembly. :P

rear of case looks like will take 80mm or 92mm fan, comparing it to 80mm fan on PSU
side panel fan looks like 80mm
suggest:
get some string or a spare cable and compare size of PSU fan mounting holes against the others
buy, borrow or salvage an 80mm fan - would probably fit in both locations
get fan template pdf from mnpctech and print it at 100% scale
