So glad I don't have an AMD card as my main gpu. got a 6850 recently for my projector pc. got a 0033 error on a black screen in the bottom right corner. connected it to my monitor using dvi and then it would register with hdmi. projector has a hdmi or vga connector. this 6850 via the dell pc was spitting the error code through both connections. the fix was to install an old 9800gt with hdmi laying around. reminded of the frustrations i used to have with AMD/ATi gpus (barring the 4870 that card was magnificent). nvidia plug and play less headaches and drama
My experience with the three Nvidia cards I handled (most recent one was a 750ti):
No worky worky.
DOA
DOA again
ditched that idea, got an ATi.
Friends GPU died over night. He wants another Nvidia, ordered him another Nvidia. Blackscreen or error whatever. Two or three days pass. Suddenly starts working.
Some weeks later: dead.
He sent it in and requested a refund. I pursuade him to get an 280X by Sapphire. Since then: Golden.
750ti...
I have never seen that kind of NOOOPE out of any component. If I had discovered TekSyndicate back then, you guys would have had a good laugh.
EDIT: If you bought your card from a retailer and it is still under warranty return it for a replacement or get a refund instead of updating the vbios.
Have you tried the bios switch on your card? I looked at the website for it and it is listed as having 2 bios, one is power overclock and the other is silent overclock. From my experience the bios switch should be next to the crossfire contacts towards the plug side of the gpu.
If your card is out of warranty or you bought it used you could try updating your vbios.
So to 'update' your gpu BIOS you will need to contact customer support for the brand and ask them for instructions on how to update your bios.
If they won't give you any instructions you have a few options: #1 is to create the required components then boot into DOS to update it, #2 is to follow some other method.
I personally cannot remember all the steps I took to update my GPU BIOS but everything I learned was from multiple google searches "How to update GPU BIOS"
If I remember correctly I contacted the manufacturer and acquired the necessary files as well as an instruction .pdf which I used along side my research to get the job done.
If I was still unemployed I could help you out a bit more but all I seem to do nowadays is work.
I will help you out with what I can but I generally only check this site once a week, if that.
This guide looks ok, I skimmed over it https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/amd-ati-flashing-guide.212849/
If you don't understand anything it says you can usually gain an understanding by a quick google search (Example: "What is DOS?")
Before you do all of this, I would like to know what motherboard you are using, for if your motherboard is old you will want to update it's BIOS as well.
