HELP! EVGA 770 ACX Running Too Hot

I have had my evga gtx 770 acx for a couple of months and after comparing temperatures with my friend who has almost the exact same computer as me i found mine was running 20 degrees hotter (his was 60 stock at 1.2 v and mine was 80+ stock 1.2v).

I think it might be cracked thermal paste or something like that because i have good airflow in my case (fractal R4) and not much heat is blown off it when my hand is next to it. our fans run at the same speed as well.

please help because I'm not sure if I should send it back to evga or take it apart and redo the thermal paste which will probably void warranty.

Thanks in advance!

60c & 80c, Im assuming he has the exact same card & your temps are measured at 100% load (& over a decent amount of time) and same ambient temps.

You really need to eliminate as many variables as you can to make a valid comparison - 1 system with both the cards (yours and your friends) tested individually. If your card exhibits substantially higher temps then RMA it. @ an ambient of 21c you should be looking at 70c under load.

could be dust build up inside the cooler? also any time you do a temp comparison make sure both computers are actually under full load or idle, and not doing something like watching a html 5 video or just dropped out of game.  He could also have his gpu fan set to run higher.
