Basically i want a kick ass computer, haters gona hate, i dont know much about ram but can you guys choose me 32gb worth ( yes i know but im getting 32gb why? just cause) and any other opinions will be appreciated for ultra performance
Well you won't need an 850W power supply even if you get a 2nd 980, so go with a 600W or near PSU unless you want to get a second GPU later and in that case get a 750W.
For the RAM, get 16GB of 1600mhz RAM, anything else would be stupid.
For your loading times they will only be faster if they are on the SSD so just bare that in mind.
So if I were you I would spend the extra money from going with a smaller power supply, getting less RAM and loosing the water cooling and maybe going for a cheaper yet still get motheboard for a second 980, it will help in every way and you will not lose any performance by doing away with some of the other things. I'd only keep the water cooling if you want to OC for learning purposes or if you are an enthusiast.
Having all those other things like an overclocked CPU on water cooling and 32GB or RAM and a hue power supply and a fancy motherboard will give you less gaming performance than 2 980's with 8GB-16GB of 1600mhz RAM with a normal motherboard and PSU and no CPU overclocking. Just my 2 cents.
Whenever i build my comps, i always get a larger then needed psu so i can upgrade in the future for the extra 50 bucks it doesnt bother me,
i want to slightly overclock, never done it so i want to get into it, temps are always on my mind so the all in one water cooler seems to be the best options.
i heard that the ram speed doesnt make much of a difference which brand do you reccomend if so can you find one on pccg for me.
i chose that motherboard because of the reviews and the looks in the case. ( i want a sexy comp) lol
and i want to go sli but i might have to wait awhile to afford it
Alright so here's what i came up with for 2grand http://pcpartpicker.com/p/BHYcmG
the SSD is really overkill though so if you want to save some money swap that out for a different one i just picked it because there was still headroom.
I went with 16GB of 2133Mhz Dominator Platinums because you said you want the system to look nice and it's the nicest looking ram i know in my opinion.
Other than that i just mostly stuck to your own requested parts they seem all fine for the price point. Of course there's potential to get simillar performance for a better price but sometimes it's nice to buy premium over bang for buck.
Another recommendation from myself is to swap the fans in your system for Noctuas, they are just really great fans and the industrial ppc versions don't look like poop anymore either!
Thanks for that only problem is you got it in US setting, Australian prices are a lot more, what would you recommend that has a similar performance that's more bang for my buck. note change to the aussie settings. thanks for your help
As far as you wanting " Load up in seconds, i want the least amount of wait time possible." I would say go with two ssds in raid 0. Two Kingston HyperX 3k SH103S3 will be much faster than a single Samsung 850 pro SSD 250gb. It will also be a little cheaper at around $160 for two 120gb ssds for 240gb toatal. The Samsung 850 pro SSD 250gb will be $20 more with only a 10gb difference and will be much slower overall compaired to a raid 0 setup.
Okay this is what you asked for mostly. because I went with the new intel platform I had to use ddr4 so for now 16gb (2x8gb) will be fine for you. Just add more later when the price drops. you only need more than 16gb if you are going to do video creation. with pro software.
so you have a pci SSD that will give you better boot times than the samsung and you can upgrade this one.
you get a 2x140mm all in one liquid cooler and it will still be balls to the walls.
Ah i'm sorry i didn't catch that it was australian dollar my bad. I went ahead and pretty much just adjusted the storage. It won't be as fast as two ssd's in raid 0 but if you really want to do can get a second one later down the line and raid them. That would require you to reinstall windows however and it is generally not recommended to raid with used ssd's but it should be fine.
