Help! cheap ass htpc build

Looking to build a cheap as possible htpc. I dont know what will acheive my requirements.

Min requirements are:

Play all video file types and bluerays at full 1080p smoothly

Youtube at 1080p

Web browsing

Be able to run 24/7 without exploding........... (for atleast a few years)

Any budget you don't want to go over?

Do you want a blu ray drive?

needs a blueray drive and just as cheap as possible. The most demanding thing it will do, is play bluerays at 1080p smoothly.

Also i already have a power hungry gaming machine, that i dont want wasting time on such simple tasks, and it helps keep my facebooking partner off it LOL

would an AMD A4 5300 be capable?

More than capable.

Here is what I came up with:

Damn i forgot to mention i live in australia.

Thankyou for the build and letting me know that the A4 5300 is good enough.

This is pretty much the cheapest you can go... Stuff is expensive there!

If he just wants to watch Blu Ray downloaded from the internet, he doesn't need a blu ray drive.

Doesn't need a HTPC case, overrpriced.

Only needs 1 stick of 4gb RAM.

CPU is fine.

Yes, he won't need anything like that power. But reliability is more important here, if he wants it to work 24/7. XFX psu's are made by Seasonic.

With that low of an overall draw, it really doesn't matter that much what power supply he uses as long as it is rated for at least 200W continuous.

If you want to risk your house going on fire with a cheap power supply then that's your choice. It's not necessarilly to do with the power draw, it's the capacitors etc used and anything by XFX, Seasonic, Corsair, Antec, etc are all top notch.

Man, this is an epic fail people. OP is in AUSTRALIA. Here is my second stab at the order:

PS, if HDMI is a requirement, then you'll need to upgrade the motherboard to a Gigabyte GA-F2A75M-D3H, which is $85, which would bring the sub-total to ~$345
