I don't know if anyone can help but I want to build a PC or buy a laptop that can play Day Z on decent settings.

My budget is 400-600 dollars.

do you need os and monitor with it

and or a optical drive?

and i dont think its really that possible to build a pc like that but i guess if u want crap parts maybe you can play on medium but im not really sure :p

$400-600 is easily doable

A10-5800K + 8GB DDR3 2133, cheap HDD, cheap case and PSU

This will let you max out almost any game on the market, and will greatly outperform an APU build.

No. I got my tv and windows vista.

Thanks but the is there a decent GFX card that will play games on low-medium settings? Because  I don't need to max BF3 or Crysis 2. I just want to be able play games.

Indeed an excelent solution for $600. Will play pretty much all recent games maxed out at least 30fps.
