Help and advice building first gaming pc

Hello members of the Tek Syndicate forum! I come to you today to seek your advice to help me build my very first gaming pc. To cut a long story short, me and a friend had been talking about bulding our own gaming pcs for some time, and because he goes to University and I don't he had a big help from his student loan and splashed out over £1000 on his about 2 months ago and I don't have that kind of money, so this is going to be a bit of a budget build.

I have a budget of £500-£550... £600 at a maximum. This will include a moniter, keyboard, mouse etc.

I'm a casual pc gamer, so I don't need top of the range parts that will play Crysis and Battlefield on ultra settings, but I would like it to be easy to upgrade in the future.

One thing I would love for this build would be a case with a side window that has good air flow and cable managing.

Hopefully you guys can help and thank you for all your replies in advance

That leaves you £137 to find a monitor and keyboard and mouse, etc. that YOU like.  Just walk into a store and start touching mice and keyboards and buy whatever you like that fits your budget because that's a much better way to buy those things than reading about it online.

CPU and GPU are very upgradable.  You could even downgrade to an AMD FX-4300 to save an extra £10 to put towards your peripherals.

I picked a case that's fairly neutral with the features you wanted.  Hope this helps.

Thanks, looks great! What about a PSU though? I see that all the parts use 324W, so what PSU would I need to keep the PC running quiet?

You could look at the 200r by corsair and the cx500 if you are concerned about the power

I changed it a little but this is what I would get

Thanks, that looks great but I changed a few things myself. I removed the cooler as I'm not looking to overclock and I changed a few bits around, kept the same CPU, mobo and HDD. The link I post comes up blank so I'll list what I picked.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor £65.99

MSI 970A-G46 ATX AM3+ Motherboard £57.56

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory £34.98

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £42.50

Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 1GB Video Card £141.34

NZXT M59 - 001BK ATX Mid Tower Case £50.29

Corsair Builder 500W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply £47.99

Total: £440.65

Looks like a good build

Woops, totally forgot a psu, lol
