Hello good people

Hi guys and girls, i am new to PC gaming and i have bought a pre build acer,it has a AMD A6-3620... which is probably quite laughable, although it does the job for now =p

but i woul dlike to get a bit more out of it because when i tried running GTA 4 on lowest settings i got some terrible lag. so i was wondering would adding a separete graphics card help with this and would it work since they cpu already has its own built in graphics? anyways if it would work i was wondering if this would work http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1366279&CatId=7005

if you guys have a better recomendation please tell me :)

thanks a bunch.

This would work fine, you can put this thing in crossfire with the APU, which will give you enough power to play modern games on medium settings. You can save $10 by going with the cheaper version of that card with DDR3, as the memory downclocks in crossfire anyway. Just make sure your power supply can support the extra load, some manufacturers cut it pretty close with their psus

edit: I was wrong, it will not work in crossfire.

would that be a smarter way to go?

That HD 6670 is $90... For that kind of money, just get an HD 7750 and forget about the crossfire.

Or spend $100 and get an HD 7770

Wait, nope, I was mistaken, It will NOT work in crossfire.

The only card that will crossfire with that APU is this:

Actually his APU can xfire with an HD 6670 as well. You were correct.

ok so this will work for sure with a A6 3620 apu quad core?

oh god im confused HAHA

also would i need to get a bigger power supply i thin i have a 200 watt right now ?

You can use 6450, 6570 or 6670. They should work.

Still if you end up spending anywhere close to $70 or $80, save yourself the trouble and get an HD 7750 instead.

Ohhh myy godd.. Yes.. Get A new power supply lol.

Here's a good one for under $20 after rebates.

secret author ? that graph thing showed differnt apu then mine i have a 3620 ... does it matter or will it be fine ?

200W probably isn't enough to run everything. I would look into getting a nice Seasonic G 550W PSU. The PSU is one of the few parts that you carry over from build-to-build. Seasonic builds fantastic PSUs, and 550W will support you with a really good, beefy GPU, like a single 7970, if/when you upgrade the rest of your system. The Seasonic G is 80+ Gold (very efficient), and fully modular (very nice). For $80, there isn't much you can get that will beat it.

The integrated graphics chip on your A6-3620 is an HD 6530D.

He doesn't need anything that "beefy."

The Corsair CX430 is more than enough and is only $20 after rebates.

HAHA ok awesome so wil this up the frames in most games in the same lower settings and if so i would much appreitate if maybe someone could just get the firm products i should get and would work th ebest together thanks so much guys
