I downloaded CPUID to see if my ram was running at the correct speed, and I noticed two things (keep in mind, I haven't changed a single thing in my bios outside of setting my optical drive to the main boot source for windows when I was first installing it)
1) My corespeed was jumping up to 4.2 gig, I have a 3770 non K, so the turbo should go to 3.9 at max, and be 3.4 regular speed.
2) My ram is running at 686.8, which if I have done my research means it's running at 1373.6 instead of the 1600 that's listed for my ram.
I decided to go in and look at the ram settings, and I noticed it was set to 1372 or something close to that, and none of the speeds were an even "1600" as my ram is listed so I figured setting it to "auto" would suffice.
About, 25 minutes after having my computer on, my HWmonitor (I think it was HWmonitor that alarmed me) popped up in the bottom right hand corner saying my motherboard was at 124 degrees centigrade. I then immediately shut my computer off and gave it 10 minutes to cool down. I turned it back on, went into my bios and my temperature was normal, and I turned my ram settings back to the 13xx setting and booted up my computer.
Once back into windows, I opened up HWmonitor and have been keeping my eye on it, but I noticed a couple of things, the temperature "AUXTIN" (I have no idea what this is) is bouncing between 2c and 127c and my "TMPIN4" is bouncing between 63c and 127c. It doesn't change to anything other than those two temperatures, and my ASUS monitor shows my motherboard at 23c
So I guess my questions are, why would changing it to "auto" cause something like this? Is it just HWmonitor bugging out? Is "auto" a really poor option for your ram? And why is my CPU acting as if its overclocked? I looked at the um, I think they're called multipliers (I have the non K so they're locked) but they are set to manual and each one is set to "41". I do not recall setting these, is it just the UEFI bios "Normal" setting in the "beginners" options that set them? And how would I go about setting my ram to the proper speed?
