Healthcare.gov Website Costs

Hey Guys,

What do you guys think of the cost of building the healthcare.gov website?

I have no frame of reference of my own, to understand what would go into building a website of this scale, the security features and infrastructure required, and the software required to make the entire system work.

According to the Wikipedia article, it costed 292 million dollars. What do you think of this number based on your understanding of what would go into building the system?

Everything the government pays for is basically inflated on price. I recall a screw driver being broke in the military was estimated to cost the government like 100 dollars or something.

Would it actually cost 292 million dollars to build it? No, but would it the government pay that? You bet they would.
