Headset vs ATH M50s with Modmic

I'm loving my Audio Technica ATH-M50s so much I'm considering giving away/selling my Plantronics Gamecom 377 headset. I would use the M50s for gaming with a modmic but M50s are accurate studio monitors and the 377, whilst not compatible are being used as intended. Would any audiophiles out there advise one over the other for gaming?

After owning a pair of Corsiar Vengeance 1500, I just got fed up with headsets. They sounded very flat unless you programmed the software EQ, and just not worth what I paid for them. About the only thing they had going was comfort. I replaced them with set of Sennheiser HD 558 paired with an ATR-4650 clip-on mic from Audio-Technica. No regrets. The mic situation could be better, but I paid next to nothing for it, and I can't complain for the price. Works well enough, and out of the way when I don't need it.

Well that's all the motivation I need to actually do this. Thanks!
