Headset Volume thingy

Do any one have a solution to that volume thingy in a headsets that wear aout over time and you cant adjust precise your volume ? I mean as you change the volume with that litle wheel sound is only in on side, or other, no sound or something like that.. Maybe there is some iol for that ? I have Zowie Hammer headset with that adjust volume thingy on cable, but i think this strikes everyone of that things in every headset.

You mean that the volume adjustment knob on the cable is broken and doesn't work precisely anymore? 1. If its a new headset, send it back to the store you bought it from and get a replacement. 2. If you don't want to do that, use a software to change volume (Hot Keyboard pro is free and allows you to change volume via hotkeys)

I really don't like the physical volume adjustments, they just add another moving part and possible point of failure.

Thanks for the reply, making a kaybord shortcut is one solution but i was looking for a way for fixing that knob. As my headset is not new a can't return it to varanty.

So maybe someone else ?

well if it's a 5.1 headset you have a problem. However if it's 2.1 you can go to Radio Shack or any hardware store and buy what's called a potentiometer. Just cut above and below the volume control, soldier your ground to the potentiometer add attach the right and left channels back to the original wire. I hope this makes sense if you have any questions you can ask.however this model cost around 10 dollars 215 dollars to do it correctly with shrink wrap. You also need to have good soldering skills. Considering the most headsets with in line on controller fairly cheap I'd recommend getting a new headset.

Thanks, but i would't want to cut the cable in my head set, as it was expensive for me, and I'm am quite fond of it. Still no solution a qeues.
